PIO:
A person of Indian origin (PIO) is a person of Indian origin or ancestry but who is not a citizen of India and is the citizen of another country. A PIO might have been a citizen of India and subsequently taken the citizenship of another country, or have ancestors born in India or other states. A Person of Indian Origin means a citizen of any country (other than Bangladesh or Pakistan), if:
1. He at any time held an Indian passport; or
2.He or either of his parents or grandparents was a citizen of India by virtue of the Constitution of India or the Citizenship Act, 1955 (57 of 1955); or
3.He is a spouse of an Indian citizen, or of a person referred to in (a) or (b) above.
